Dear Field Moon Handmade Soap Customers,
It has come to our attention that some of our wooden wick candles have a problem.
They can be very difficult to light and/or to stay lit. We did a little experiment on one from the latest batch this morning and can definitely see what our customers have experienced.
It took Naoko 9 matches and 6 minutes to get the darn wick to light! It’s still burning well one hour later, but the blood sweat and tears involved just to light one wick is not acceptable! As far as we can tell, the wooden wick supplier’s latest batch of wicks are to blame. Ah the joys of natural, handmade products!
If you are having problems with your Field Moon Soap wooden wicked candle, please contact us for a full refund, or trade for a 8 oz cotton wick candle.
We are sorry for any frustration, stress, and swearing these candles have caused, and thank you for letting us know so we can make it right.
Now we are selling a 8 oz cotton wick candle instead of the wooden wick one.
Here are some tips of wooden wick candle.
How to light the wooden wick candle.
1, The first burn is the most important.
Give your candle enough burning time to develop a melted wax pool that goes all the way to the edge of the container on the first use - this can take up to a few hours.
2.Keep your wooden wick trimmed short and free of charred bits.
3.If your candle won't stay lit because it is "drowning" in a wax pool, try using a paper towel or napking to soak up some of the excess wax.
Burn within sight, Keep away from flammable objects. Keep away from children and pets.
Trim wick to 1/4" before lighting. Keep candle free of any foreign materials including matches and wick trimmings. Only burn the candle on a level, fire resistant surface. Do not burn candle for more than 4 hours at a time. Stop use when only 1/4" of wax remains.
